Rave Technologies Supports Local Communities

Mumbai, 14th February 2018: Rave Technologies, A Northgate Public Services Company, is pleased to have shared love and support for the vulnerable sections of the society in 2017. We are a “People-first” company and our employees’ enthusiasm and willingness to support social causes encourage us to sponsor activities and ensure that we help in the sustenance of the communities around us.

We understand the importance of inclusive growth for developing the economy as a whole and aim to provide our help and support to the nearby local communities. We have taken initiatives towards understanding and addressing social impacts through volunteer programs and structured CSR projects.

Associations with NGOs

In 2017, we associated with three NGOs and undertook a skill development project in a nearby college. Like every year, we invited three NGOs – The National Association of Disabled Enterprises (NADE), Aadhar Home and Umang Charitable Trust to visit our office to sell their merchandise. Aadhar Home, NADE and Umang Charitable Trust support and work for differently abled children, empowering them by teaching to create various artistic merchandise. We also visited Anand Niketan, an institute providing care and shelter to destitute people. We not only offered groceries and other daily life requirements but spent time with them playing games and knowing them better. The smiles on their faces were the greatest reward all our employees received on the day.

“We have been actively involved in supporting social causes for many years. Every year, we call NGOs to visit our office along with their merchandise. This ensures that the kids are motivated to feel empowered and create and sell their produce. It is an enriching experience and gives a lot of joy in helping others and our employees have always come out to help and support them wholeheartedly. We abide by our mantra – “Sharing is caring”.

Through our employees, we were approached by Sobti Parents Association, an NGO working for multiple disabled children. They were looking for sponsoring the education and daily needs of the kids at their respite care centre. We were more than happy to associate and help them in our own small ways.

Skill Development Program

As part of the corporate social responsibility for 2017, we focused on enhancing the professional skills of the final year students from lower economic backgrounds at Kirti College. The objective of the project was to teach skills to the students by assessing their existing capabilities and ensuring they get jobs. The college was entrusted to select final year students from all disciplines with a lower economic background.

Professional trainers were appointed to create the course content and train the students. A special course was created to equip them for corporate work. The course was divided into two parts – Bridge Course and the Specialised course. The “Bridge Course” covered basic professional skills like Communication, Presentation, Analytical skills and basic IT skills. The “Specialised Course” focused on the core interest of the students and honed their skills.

Kedar Barve, CFO at Rave Technologies said,

“We were aware that the students were not getting desired jobs in the industry because of some lacking skills. We interacted with the kids and found that they were smart and intelligent; they just needed some grooming and polishing of skills. We took up this task to train them and make them ready for the industry. We partnered with the college, a recruitment agency and a training agency to set up the 6-month skill development program at the college. We are happy that our efforts were successful as all the students were placed in the industry soon after completion of the program. Some of our employees even volunteered to mentor and guide these kids.”

We are proud that our employees have always actively participated in our corporate social activities. We will be closely working with other NGOs this year for our 2018 annual CSR activities.
