NEC won not just the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes in the poster competition but also won three out of the five prizes in the photography competition!
The British Association of Retinal Screening (BARS) has been the UK’s professional organisation for those who provide retinal screening services for people with diabetes. Every year they hold the annual BARS conference in September for eye screening professionals. The 2024 BARS conference in Liverpool was a great success, attended by approximately 200 delegates.
Our screening teams are in attendance at the conference every year, not only as speakers and presenters but also participating in the various competitions, winning several prizes this year.
We won not just the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes in the poster competition but also won three out of the five prizes in the photography competition! The 1st place in the poster competition went to the Ireland Diabetic Eye Screening Programme. See our prize winning entries below:

Not only these but we are also won the prize draw held by Zeiss at this year’s conference. Delegates were tasked with capturing a Macular OCT using the Cirrus HD – OCT to be in with a chance of winning a pair of Zeiss Binoculars. The winner of this was announced as Joanne Harmon, Dep. Programme Manager at the DRS programme, Ireland.
