NEC secures contract to screen babies to check for hearing loss in Ireland
NEC has won the contract to provide the National Universal Newborn Hearing Screening Programme (UNHSP) in Ireland for another four years.
Our teams support the Newborn Hearing Screening Programme in the Republic of Ireland and have helped to bring down the time it takes to identify hearing loss from three years to just three months. We provide both the software and the trained screening staff to help deliver this service.
Identifying and referring babies for further care and treatment related to hearing loss, at this early stage helps clinicians to act sooner, enabling better follow-up services to newborn babies identified with moderate, severe and profound deafness.
