Vulnerable people need to trust visitors to their homes, but officers face growing suspicion around their identity, especially when in plain clothes. 

Many forces have turned to FaceTime, MS Teams or 101/999 to enable citizens to confirm identities and check the validity of a contact. ​

However, these approaches require other uniformed officers or call-handling teams to be involved. Plus, there is currently no system for checking validity.

What is Identity Verification​

A secure and simple way for citizens to verify warrant cards and improve police efficiencies. Identity Verification works by:

  1. When an officer arrives at a property, they open an app on their mobile device, displaying their digital warrant card.
  2. This also shows a QR code that can be scanned by the public. The officers identity is then verified on the person’s device.
  3. For extra security, a pin number can also be generated. This can be crossed checked on the police force’s website.
