Newborn Screening

Our teams support the Newborn Hearing Screening Programme in the Republic of Ireland  and have helped to bring down the time it takes to identify hearing loss from three years to just three months.

Identifying and referring babies for further care and treatment related to hearing loss, at this early stage helps clinicians to act sooner, enabling better follow-up services to newborn babies identified with moderate, severe and profound deafness.

With our software, 99.97% of eligible newborn babies are screened within 3 months of birth. This is 37 days quicker than the international standard to identify hearing loss.
