NEC have been trusted for many years to support the delivery of national policing programmes helping to develop and drive adoption of national standards. As the UK policing landscape enters a new phase of reform this heritage and proven capability aligned with user-centred service design and the continued investment in innovative technology and platforms ideally positions us to work with the Policing authorities to drive modernisation and national capabilities.

Recent success in the delivery of a national crime system for Police Scotland has helped drive common processes and data quality as part of the force-wide digital transformation programme.

We already provide a number of national capabilities…

Fixed Penalty Enforcement

We’re proud to work with the Home Office to deliver the PentiP system.

PentiP is a cross-criminal justice platform used by all police forces in England, Wales. It records and processes Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) and Conditional Offers for vehicle based offences, such as speeding and red-light offences. It is also used for low level anti-social behaviour offence warnings and FPNs issued under the Penalty Notice for Disorder (PND) Scheme.

Road Safety

With the publication of the Road Safety Strategy of 2026, shortly to be followed by the Roads Policing Strategy 2026, NEC is focused on identifying new and streamlined solutions that combine data sets that allow policing organisations to make faster and intelligence-led decisions to intercept and prevent crime whilst also improving road safety more its many users. Our global organisation is supporting the development of national infrastructure to manage and monitor connected autonomous vehicles, whilst closer to home we are working with organisations such as NPCC, RPAN and UKROEd to identify the next generation of services and solutions that ultimately keeps us all safe.

Asset Recovery IT (ARIT)

ARIT will help organisations including, police forces, the National Crime Agency (NCA), HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) and local councils manage items seized from criminals. By streamlining the way these assets are tracked and shared, ARIT will help teams work together more effectively, improve evidence for court, and prevent criminal money from funding further illegal activity such as fraud or organised immigration crime.

ARIT is a key commitment in the Home Office’s Economic Crime Plan and supports the government’s wider Anti-Money Laundering and Asset Recovery (AMLAR) Programme to improve the UK’s ability to recover criminal assets  and reduce economic crime.
